Deep Casing Tools shortlisted for OGUK Award

We are honored to be shortlisted for ‘Business Innovation’ in the SME category for the Oil & Gas UK Awards.

We pride ourselves on our philosophy of simple innovation, which drives us to provide unique downhole technology solutions to our clients.

This award nomination was based on our Casing Cement Breaker (CCB), a one of a kind, enabling technology that was created to deal with problematic cement behind casing, which hinders conventional methods for plugging and abandonment and slot recovery. The hydromechanical tool, which is run downhole on drill pipe, works using pressure and rotation to manipulate the existing casing in the well, within its elastic limits, breaking down the bond between cement and casing, as well as the structure of the cement behind the casing.

The CCB has been internationally recognised by many operators and service companies including Equinor, who carried out the first field trial having been introduced to the technology by Archer UK, and Total E&P UK, who are committed to help develop and trial. We are dedicated to pushing technological boundaries in an effort to make operations in the wider oil and gas sector more sustainable, efficient and safe, and ultimately the UKCS.

In response to the nomination, David Stephenson, CEO of Deep Casing Tools said: “We are extremely proud to be shortlisted for such a prestigious award that recognises our efforts and constant drive to deliver advanced, contemporary solutions. Deep Casing Tools is composed of incredibly skilled individuals, creating a strong team who seek to challenge conventional solutions and enhance existing technology.

We would like to applaud the other businesses who have been selected within the ‘Business Innovation’ category, Swagelining Ltd and WFS Technologies Ltd. We wish them the best of luck. “

The Oil and Gas UK Awards are well-regarded within the energy industry and seek to celebrate and honour the achievements of both businesses and individuals. The awards will be taking place at the brand new P&J Live venue in Aberdeen on the 7th of November.
